daisy_knotwise and I went out today and bought a new gas stove to replace the one that came with the house. The oven door has never closed correctly, despite numerous repair attempts, and it's time to give up on it.

The purchase of the new stove was almost exactly covered by our accumulated Discover card rebate.

It's a GE Profile JGB916 in white. It's a ludicrous amount of stove, but I wanted to get the convection oven and this was as far down the line as I could find it. It includes five burners (one of which is convertable to a griddle), a warming drawer, and a 17,000 BTU burner for those times when you want the water to boil while you're watching the pot. :)

We've been looking for a 5 burner stove. That's what our 40's vintage has, and we've come to appreciate the centered 5th burner for use with our large wok.
