Orville, Round Four

Gretchen and I caught the fourth episode of The Orville tonight on our DVR. Once again, good solid science fiction involving a lost generation ship. Yes, Star Trek went there too. Almost any episodic SF series worth its salt is likely to get there eventually.

But the Emerson reveal is worth it. :)

Apparently, this is a planned 13 episode season, so we're roughly a third of the way through now.

I was hoping for a more direct shout out to Asimov, too, but no luck.

SF series don't have to be about roaming around the galaxy in FTL ships, and one set in one place would be less likely to have a lost generation ship.

If this show actually has meaningful plot rather than just being about characters and humor, I'm more interested in checking it out. I'd thought it was mostly a sitcom.
