Julie and the Softball League

Well, we found out why Julie was hesitant about signing up for softball again.

Late last fall, there was a wasp nest inside of the metal bleachers. And someone managed to disturb them and Julie got stung several times. She is not anxious to get stung again.

We've promised her that we'll keep her away from the wasps. And bees.

She wants to avoid dragonflies too, but we're just going to have to explain that they don't sting.

It's progress.

Good luck! I had a fear of dragonflies when I was young, brought on by a friend from another part of the country where they apparently were also called 'sewing needles' - which conjured up all the wrong impressions in my young mind.

Poor Julie. Experience may be a good teacher, but she so often uses the wrong lesson plan.
