Crack!

I seem to have broken my crown. Fortunately, it's just part of the porcelain cover -- the underlying metal is intact so far. But I think it's time to talk to the dentist.

Well, fortunately, it doesn't hurt. But when you know something's wrong, you keep poking your tongue back there to check, which is just not the right thing to be doing...

Yeah, I do that when I have something sore in my mouth too. I think my mental processes go something like this:

"I wonder if it's still sore?"
*poke*
"Yep."

30 seconds later

"Does it still hurt?"
*poke*
"Yeah, it hurts. I shouldn't do that any more."

30 seconds later

"Maybe it doesn't hurt any more."
*poke*
"Oh, I guess it does."

Repeat ad nauseum.
