Much of today did not go exactly as planned and some things that should have been accomplished weren't, while other things were. What wasn't accomplished today must still be accomplished tomorrow.

In other news, I have carefully explained to the girls that when they run, Ruby is trying to herd them, nipping at their legs like she would vagrant sheep. Half Border Collie indeed!

I know the feeling. My biggest accomplishment from yesterday was achieving a 2-hour mid-afternoon nap. Coupled with passably decent sleep last night, hopefully I can also make more of Sunday.

A friend of mine also has a herding dog. Mellie tried to herd the garbage cans at the county fair grounds because they were covered in cow print. She also actually herds cats (the ones that live with her).

Also, dogs of many breeds play chase, with much nipping at each other. We explained that to Robin (who was 5 or 6 when we got our first husky, who was a a large pup), and told him to stop, spin around, and yell stop. It took a few repetitions, but eventually Robin learned that the dog wasn't trying to bite, and she learned how to play with humans.
