So after our boss flew into town to spend some time meeting with us, he ended up in phone calls with people back on the West Coast for essentially the whole day. I went down to the Loop where I did manage to sort out a few bugs with my coworkers and got to be in a conference call with India.

I am reminded of how much shorter my commute usually is. :)

Over lunch, I took advantage of drift to firebomb a bunch of froggie portals as my cursor flew around over the River North area. Hey, it's AP...

I can understand that and taking advantage of a new area helps on occasion.

I did find a different usage for Ingress. I was able to see that a friend's plane landed safely. (They upgraded a portal.)

Heh! It took me a day or two to get a local SIM for the data link needed to play, but then I had a little fun with Ingress in Kenya. For the most part, portals are rather less closely packed there, so most of them were a drive away rather than a walk. There also seems to be a bit of faction imbalance among the resident players, with one high level player who probably flies for a living and therefore maintains huge fields between airfields. There was a nice close group of portals around the hospital my mother spent Xmas in, though, so something to do in between visits...

The first time I flew to India it was at the insistance of the uber-boss at the time (a very short-lived state of affairs) who was based there. Two of us flew to India - eating two or three days in transit - to have a meeting. Then said boss spent almost all of the day in meetings with other people who'd also flown from the States, and didn't meet with us until the end of the day - and only for an hour or less.

At least the second day was a bit more productive - and I got to visit the Taj Mahal on the way home.
