Ingress Is More Fun Than Packing

Hearing that I was a bit short on gear, Peter Heltzer invited me up to an Ingress farming session in Vernon Hills. I brought Katie and Julie along and they had a fine time playing with the Heltzer boys (for the most part -- any interaction between young children is subject to sudden change :) ). And I have a great deal more gear.

We grilled steaks and had them with baked potatoes and sweet corn for dinner to celebrate the end of summer vacation. Then we went out to Dairy Queen for the same reason and I used some of the newly acquired gear to take out a portal next door...

Now, we are trying to get little girls to bed. And finish packing everything up. Foolishly, I thought I could get all of the files in the office into four bankers boxes. This might have worked, except the large filing cabinet is full of legal-sized files.

Ah, well. There are more boxes in the basement...

No argument on Ingress... I had about a half hour to kill and managed to finish a local mission between things. (It also put me a little closer to the next level which is currently points locked vs badge locked, although it might go badge locked due to one upgrading beyond what they require. (Too many gold, not enough silver.))

A gold badge also counts as a silver badge. Fret not.

(Unless you're playing guitar or some other suitable stringed instrument. :) )

Bill is correct... your upper-level badges count as all the things they were in the past also.

After this weekend's big op, I now have all the badges I need up through Level 15 (currently level 12).

Unfortunately, I need tons and tons (and tons) more AP.

It was So.Much.Fun!!

I think I may be hooked on ops now. Fortunately, we do a lot of ops in Indy. One of the Indy leaders commented the other day that we've BAFfed over Indy at least once a month for the last year. Holy cow. That's a lot of lane-clearing. (I counted the names on the list... there were over 70 people boots-on-the-ground for this weekend's op.)

This was my first op as a fielder... all the previous ops, I was on the clearing teams. Paying dues and all that jazz... :-)
