Ingress Away

I've made much less progress in my second month of Ingress than I did in the first. I've walked much less and rolled up fewer AP, partly due to the weather and partly due to work.
But I did get to the park this afternoon where I racked up 20K AP in 20 minutes.
At that rate, it's another four and a half hours to level 8.
And I do need the exercise. :)

Date: 2015-08-12 05:17 pm (UTC)Ingress encourages me to get up and walk around, which is good for me.
Mind you, there's also wardriving for parts and links when Gretchen is driving or when I'm on the shuttle to Wrigley Field, but that's not the main activity of the game.

Date: 2015-08-23 12:59 am (UTC)I'm playing most days now; made it to level 2 several days ago, but I still haven't finished training. Most of my play is just around my neighborhood: discovering places of interest (portals), hacking for resources, recharging resonators, and occasionally linking and even once or twice creating a field.
Last night — beautiful weather for a change!— strolling and playing around 11pm, I made my first RealSpace™ contact: A couple, who both had their
smartphonesscanners out, asked me "Are you playing Ingress?" One of them was an agent whose name I'd seen a lot on COMM in my area. We had some really nice conversation, and they gave me some useful tips, both then and by COMM later: glyph-hacking! :-) I'm trying to make sketches of the glyphs on my scanner, with their meanings, so I can learn them, so as to get them right and get a speed bonus.η: Aaand.... I just added that icon!
