Be it known to all that on this day, the Fourth of May in the Year 2015, I do officially declare it to be Spring in Chicagoland.

The Official Ritual of Spring, the Ceremonial Burning of the Remaining Gas in the Snowblower, has commenced.

There may now be Much Rejoicing.

I take it that the kind of gas used in the snowblower either doesn't match the kind used in the lawnmower, or isn't worth retrieving?

I turned off the pilot light in the wall-mounted / natural-gas-fired space heater in the Den on May 1.

Of course, the next morning it was 44 degrees F outside...

I tend to leave the gas in the snow blower, since I start it up whenever I cut the grass. We have mice in the shed where I store the power equipment, so when I pull the lawnmower out to cut the grass, I fire up the snow blower and close the door to the shed. This tends to kill the mice via carbon monoxide poisoning.
