They called late this afternoon to let us know that school is canceled tomorrow due to dangerous wind chills. (Actually, they told daisy_knotwise when she was picking the girls up, so she knew earlier.) They may be off Thursday as well.

I seem to recall this from last year too.

So much for that mild winter...

School's out here, too. Two hour delay yesterday due to the snow & road conditions (we ended up with about 6 inches at the house). They made the call to cancel for today for our district a bit before 8 pm last night - after every other district in the area had already cancelled. I didn't expect them to make a decision until 5 am today, based on what's happened in the past. Who knows about tomorrow?

I don't mind them cancelling school for impassible road conditions. I'm getting a bit worried about cancelling for wind chills, because it's getting to be a regular problem and sooner or later, we will get the impassible road conditions and more cancellations. :)

Interestingly, everyone here in the DC area is complaining because most of the school systems DIDN'T close or delay opening with the 1-3" of snow we got Tuesday morning.

Almost seems like our respective cities have switched bodies...
