The Power of Coincidence

Yesterday, a big storm blew through the area, knocking out the power to our local Jewel supermarket, which daisy_knotwise discovered when she went to pick up stuff for dinner there. Oops.

We were going to grab a couple of things for dinner there today on our way back from lunch, but the store was still closed. So Gretchen planned to head out to the Jewel up at Randhurst while I spent time here working on "Harvest Season", which is this year's ISFiC Press book.

That Jewel is apparently also closed due to a power outage.

She's now on the way to the Jewel at Lee and Oakton.

We'll see how this goes...

Midday today I was told the Jewel in downtown Palatine was closed, as was Eurofresh Market, but Mariano's probably had a good day, as they had power and we're open. Eurofresh is our first choice, Jewel the second, yet to try Mariano's). Eating dinner at Toreo (or is it El Torero now? Flip-flops occasionally...)
