[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I have had many home-cooked meals over the years, but we have never ventured into the world of pork shoulder -- not counting the one time I tried to smoke it on the grill long ago. But today, Gretchen prepared and shredded a fine pork shoulder into lovely pulled pork. The Carolina Gold sauce went with it very nicely.

Yum!

How did you cook it? Slow-cooker?

Actually, I followed the instructions that showed up the same day in the tribune.
I took the pork shoulder, cut it into manageable chunks, rubbed them in olive oil, salt and a little pepper. Browned then added enough liquid (I used apple juice,) to half cover the cheunks of meat.
The dutch oven went into a 325 degree oven for about 2 1/2 hours. Pull out the chunks and shred them into a bowl.

That's it.
