The new piece of gear arrived today and -- after a lot of swearing and some help from daisy_knotwise fishing cables out from behind the console, followed by plugging things back into the patch bay that had fallen out, everything is now working.

And there was much rejoicing. (Preceded by much swearing.) :)

So what did you get?

I got an RME ADI-4 DD. It allows me to take the lightpipe output from my RayDAT card in the computer and patch it through to four different AES devices (or SPDIF and TOSLINK, given that I have a second digital patch bay to do that conversion). It's annoyingly expensive, but it keeps all of my outboard gear relevant when mixing in Cubase.
