[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise bought me a new stocking cap for my trips to the Loop this week. When I was standing there waiting for the shuttle bus across the Loop this morning and the one degree Fahrenheit wind whipped through the back of the cap into the back of my head and started producing a headache, I decided that it was really just a wee bit too cold today.

Fortunately, the bus arrived shortly thereafter.

And the meetings went well. :)

Yes - in Ohio yesterday, at bus stop time, it was 7 degrees, with a wind chill of -15.

My daughter, who had complained about the leggings plus jeans, and the T-shirt, long sleeves, and sweater combination, as well as the hat, gloves, and scarf non-stop, suddenly stopped complaining as we walked up the sidewalk out to the van my husband had started ten minutes earlier.

The van wasn't warm, but it was out of the wind. The snow didn't accumulate on any cars yesterday, because the wind sanded it right off and would not let it lay.

At school, none of the kids left class to go back to their housing units in a fit of temper. I think they thought about going outside, and their tempers cooled off!

What you need is a parka to wear with it. The hood for windbreaking and the cap under it for insulation. Works great.
