That is to say all of the Christmas decorations save for the tree and ornaments have been taken down. The tree is scheduled to be dismantled tomorrow.

It's a shame. It was a lovely tree and there was never enough time to spend enjoying it, I think.

In the "not looking like January" department, the forecast high for later this week is 50 degrees. I can work with that.

It's always seemed crazy to me that just at the start of the darkest, most dismal time of the year, we decorate our homes with mass quantities of light and color and shine -- only to take them down a mere week or 2 later, just when their absence will be felt most keenly. And then people wonder why some humans are prone to SAD.

Leaving the Christmas lights up until Easter could save a lot of sanity, or even lives.
