Field Recording Test
Jan. 8th, 2013 10:30 pmIn this case, the field was our library at home. We recorded four tracks simultaneously to Cubase from the new mixer, then listened to them on the mixer. The technology was a wonderful success.
The personnel needed a little work. :) Katie kept moving her mic around,
daisy_knotwise had a bad reaction to dinner, and Julie decided to start a music box playing in the middle of one take. I forgot to plug the guitar in for one take, rendering it pretty much useless.
But the files were beamed up to the NAS, sucked down to the computer in the basement, imported into Cubase there, and have now been mixed.
It was only about 1:34 worth of music, but it worked.
(And now I'm going to reboot the machine upstairs and see if it still sees the mixer...)
