I think my voice is back and we are down to the deadline, so I will be recording vocals for my album today.

Wish us luck!

There is nothing quite like contemplating the harmonies on the chorus and realizing that you are out of male voices, having shipped your perfectly good tenor off to Germany.

On the other hand, we have vocals down for Shades of Gray and New Frontier, so progress is being made.

Actually, in this case, the answer is very straightforward as to when to go to dinner. After you record the lead vocals for Make a Trade, which is a real throat ripper, it's time to take a break and go get some food.

Also recorded this afternoon, lead vocals for Far Horizon, The Colors of You, and Winter Waltz. Conspicuously absent thus far are Look At Me and Falling Toward Orion, but they're moving rapidly up on the list of things to do.

So far, that makes six lead vocals out of fifteen, which is not too bad for an afternoon of work. We'll see what the throat is up for later this evening.

So we came back from dinner, placed the CD orders for WindyCon, and then headed back to the studio where I laid down vocals for Pieces and You Are My Life demonstrating that I can currently sing above my break. Of course, the hot cider with cinnamon and cloves probably didn't hurt that any either.

Just to demonstrate that we are not completely neglecting [livejournal.com profile] catalana's album, [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise laid down the tom part for Where Are You Going?, which would be the source of today's boom, a tom being rather like that when played with timpani mallets. :)
