The End Is Near
Mar. 25th, 2006 07:20 pmI spent more than four and a half hours playing my last six APBA baseball games at Rostrom's, going 4-2 and guaranteeing that I'll finish over .500 (although almost certainly out of the playoffs). Sadly, it should normally take about three hours or so to play six games.
I have one game left to play. Maybe I'll actually get to play it on Monday. I was supposed to play it last Monday, but the other guy cancelled. And since he can only play on Saturday afternoon late, Sunday, and Monday night and
daisy_knotwise and I are going to FilkOntario on Thursday night and won't be back until late on Monday next week, I really want to get that game played.

Flipping Particles
Mar. 25th, 2006 10:33 pmApparently, Fermilab has conducted an experiment that doesn't prove (because they only hit the 90% certainty level), but that strongly indicates that the B_s meson flips back and forth between matter and anti-matter 17 trillion times a second.
Now that really Hertz.
Now that really Hertz.
