I knew the weather was too nice today when I left for work. It was a bit windy, but the temperature was in the mid 60s. It was forecast to drop all day, which was fine.

However, when the wind gusts reach the point where they try to blow me off my feet, things are getting a bit out of hand.

Filk Hotel News

A couple of pointers for those who haven't run across them:

I spoke to Lee Gold at Consonance. Filking at Worldcon will be in the Hilton, so if you're a filker and want to avoid walking between hotels late at night, that's probably where you want to be. Sadly, it's too late to be among the first to reserve in that hotel and get the more favorable room rate for a quiet room, but there are still rooms available as of last night. As far as I can tell, this info still isn't on the website or at laconiv. Well, it wasn't until I posted it to the community just now.

I'm also advised that OVFF is letting people know that hotel rooms will be hard to get if you wait until close to the con because of an Ohio State home football game and the Quarterhorse Congress striking simultaneously. The OVFF hotel took my reservation this afternoon. They're waiting to take yours.
