Musings on a Bald Spot
Sep. 27th, 2004 02:25 pmOne of the hazards that most men face as they get older is that their hair starts to disappear. While I'm not doing too badly in front, there's this bald spot that's started to pop up in back on one side, right where the part in my hair ends. Of course, since it's in back, it's not easy to keep track of its progress, although I'm reminded each time I get a haircut -- like, say, today.
The problem is trying to spot the bald spot when working with just a single mirror. I've been working on the trick of moving faster than light, so that I can turn and catch the reflection of the back of my head as the light bounces off the mirror, but I haven't quite mastered it yet.
I don't recall Barry Allen having this problem. Then again, he had a crew cut, which is a problem of another kind altogether.
