Bye, Bye, TV Guide
Aug. 2nd, 2005 08:12 pmIn case you haven't heard, TV Guide is dumping its comprehensive program listings this fall. Since the reason that I most want the magazine is to find out whether or not I've seen the episode of a show that I follow that's airing in any particular week, this means that my subscription will be allowed to lapse.

Date: 2005-08-03 01:49 am (UTC)I haven't trusted the episode listings in at least two years.
I've noticed that some cable networks will not only switch episodes, they'll air different TV shows, with no explanation ever given. This causes major annoyance with the TiVO, let me tell you. I wind up taping shows I would never watch because of this.
I suspect they're following the MicroSoft model: They don't know what they're showing, or when, and it's all subject to change without notice, and it's not their fault. :-)
