I'm glad it's not broken. I've always heard that sprains are worse than breaks, for pain/recovery/etc., but having now had both, I can state equivocally that I'd rather have a sprain than a break!
And yeah, what Judi said... the more you move it, the more you work the built-up lactic acid out of it. Even if you don't think it's swelling, you may find that ice helps both pain and mobility. If you don't have a good ice pack handy, I recommend frozen peas.
