I was sitting inside, reading e-mail and playing solitaire, when [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise noted that the Bakeline plant not far from our home was baking something wonderful with apples and cinnamon. And the wonder of wireless networking means that the laptop can come out on the patio and I can just keep putting the red 7 on the black 8 (or something like that).

The good news is that aromas have very few calories.

Meanwhile, the cats seem happy that we're out here with them. I think.

I read "Bakelite(1) plant." (I'm an old Brit and my eyes are bleary.) And my first thought was "I didn't know it came from plants" and my second thought was "no you fool it means factory--apples and cinnamon?" and my third thought was "eh?" at which point I went back and reread.

I'll be waking up annnny time now.

(1) Bakelite is a plasticlike substance that radios and telephones and suchlike used to be made of over here. As far as I know nobody makes it any more.
