So I'm considering watching the two-hour finale of Lost tonight, despite the fact that I've never watched an episode and know nothing more about the series than I've read in the newspapers, TV Guide, and my friends' LJ postings.

Is this a good idea or a bad idea?

I gave up on the show months ago, but I plan to watch tonight.

Alymid and I have been watching it since the second episode. We both really like it. The style is odd, but interesting to me. As for watching tonight's episode... I don't know how much you'll pick up. A lot will probably depend on the interactions of the characters, both before and after they ended up on the island, and you won't have any of that background.

On the other hand, it's probably worth watching just for the number of attractive people on the show... 8)

Yeah, go ahead and watch it. There will likely be a bunch of symbolic, back-story and relationship stuff that may go over your head, but I'm figuring they will lean toward action tonight, both on the water and in the camp to hype us up for next season. If nothing else, it should be exciting.

I watched a few episodes at the beginning, but from all I hear about how it's evolved over the season, I'm pretty sure someone just coming into this complicated storyline without any of the background would be, well.... lost. *duck and run!*

One thing they did that I really thought was cool... A couple of weeks ago, they aired an episode that was literally nothing but a recap, what has gone before. They introduced all the characters, showed the important interactions between them, covered the plotline from the beginning of the season, basically. It was kind of a nice touch, to bring in all the people who have said "yeah, but I don't know what's going on, I'm not going to start now..."
