Back In the Basement Again

daisy_knotwise worked on baking an apple pie for tomorrow's dinner, I went down to the basement to try to straighten things out a bit. A bit was about all that could really be done, because there's just an incredible mess scattered about the place, but if you do a little bit at a time, sooner or later, you'll get to the bottom of the stack. (Probably later in this case, but, hey!)
I went about shifting boxes between shelves to get them in the right place, emptying and flattening boxes for recycling, putting things away, and throwing out a metric ton of assorted stuff of no value, such as fouled packing material. And then I realized that we hadn't quite finished carpeting the basement.
There was a little tiny patch of trim on each side of the staircase that still needed to be filled in. Fortunately, I had bunches of scrap material, so a few quick cuts later, I was able to fill in the holes and glue the patches down.
Now the carpeting's done. :) (It had better be...)
