By way of [livejournal.com profile] sraun:

What happens when you get a Roomba for a present and you have cats?

Terrorized cats. (Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] fuzzbucket_cat...)

Oh, I definitely needed that today.

Thanks!

Ah...but does it suck?

Roomba. Is that the $200 disc-shaped robotic vacuum cleaner? I doubt it would work for me because of all the clutter on the carpet. And I'm sure my cats would hiss at it like they do with the upright.

Now, a friend of mine -- [livejournal.com profile] gleepy -- used to have a cat that didn't mind getting vacuumed, as long as it had a long hose and the vacuum motor was a few feet away.

When I was a kid we had a dog that loved to be vacuumed. When I would pull out the cleaner to do the floors he would make a total nuisance of himself
till I got out the special dog attachement and gave him the once-over.

Our Kirby goes waaay too far into the hypersonics for cat comfort, apparently. They both disappear in puffs of varicolored undercoat-hair the instant I turn it on.
