daisy_knotwise and I headed down to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs play the Padres. Gretchen got her free Precious Moments figurine, we had a fine brunch at the Stadium Club, and we damned near froze to death in 50 degree temperatures, because the wind was blowing straight in off the lake at a substantial velocity.Rich Hill pitched a pretty reasonable game, but the bullpen came in and blew things up completely, as the Cubs lost 9-0. The Padres pitcher threw a complete game of 92 pitches, which you can only do if you're Greg Maddux or facing the Cubs, apparently. I mean it's not like they were taking any pitches.
Of course, they never do.
