Making a Mess

billroperMeanwhile, back at work, our hero had finally finished untangling the incredible mess of spaghetti code from the lovely meatball inside when he discovered that someone had put oregano in the sauce some years ago. Upon further review, the guilty chef had been our hero.
Oops.
There's a dummy symbol that I put in some years ago when we started doing more work with scenario-based data that is automatically translated at various -- but, as it turns out, not all! -- places into a reference to the current scenario. Rather than try to figure out where it's being correctly used and where it needs to be fixed, it turns out that the best thing to do is to pull the dummy symbol out of the codebase.
Which is what I'm doing.
One compile error at a time.
