Culture Shock

Yesterday, after nearly nine years in my current car (a 96 Mercury Sable that replaced a 90 Mercury Sable), I picked up my new Ford Five Hundred.

The car is cool, but it will take some getting used to. ("They put that where?")

And tarkrai is coming in next week to pick up the Sable. Long may she run... :)

Oh I know how you feel. My new Mazda3 is a great machine, very pleased with it. But all the controls are in the wrong places! When I'm tired and reach for the twister on the turn signal to pulse the wipers, like I do on Diana's van and did on my old truck, I turn the headlights off!

Congrats on the new wheels!

I'm quite enjoying my new Altima. I'm impressed that I can fit two 24" rolling bags and three guitars in hard cases, with room to spare to squeeze a duffel or two of songbooks in.

Used to drive a '91 Merc Tracer--that's the infamous car that died ten minutes into the drive home from Concertino '99.
