Reading Is An Adventure

billroperEarlier this week, I finally finished reading the new Pooh stories to Katie. We've had the book for some time and have made various fits and starts at reading it, but never got past Chapter 1, which Katie insisted on reading over and over again.
A few weeks ago, she was paging through the books and saw the story about Tigger that makes up Chapter 9. She wanted me to read her that story immediately.
"No," I told her. "This is a book with chapters and we have to read it in order."
Eventually, she agreed to this, and we read one chapter a night until we finally got to Chapter 9, "Tigger Dreams of Africa". Katie was happy to hear it.
And the next night I read her Chapter 10 and the book was over.
The next night she asked for Chapter 9, so I read it to her, because now we had read all the chapters and knew all the things that had come before.

daisy_knotwise, so now Gretchen is reading a chapter of the book to Katie.
I was not surprised when I heard the opening lines of Chapter 9 coming through the wall into the room where I was putting Julie to bed...
