Guilt

I got back from lunch to find daisy_knotwise playing a game of Candy Land with Katie, while Julie was rolling around the downstairs on her tricycle. I hurried upstairs to try to get some work done before Gretchen needs to leave for her doctor's appointment, and Julie vaulted off the tricycle to follow me up.

She's fast. I ended up having to close the door in her face, explaining that Daddy had to work. She shrieked.

A few minutes later, I had to head out of the room for a moment. And I found a blanket, a tiger-striped pillow, and Julie's precious spotted puppy sitting on the pillow waiting for me.

*sigh*

Grading papers at home is nearly impossible for me. I'll stay at school later to get it done, for just such moments as those you describe with Julie.
