And I've just finished ripping all of the albums that we sell to an MP3 player, so we can demo them for customers. There are a few exceptions to this: I didn't rip several albums that we have single copies of and which we're going to stop carrying for a variety of reasons. But that said, here are the final statistics for you stats hounds.

I ripped 249 albums containing 3968 tracks. The MP3 player started out with 15296 MB of space and now has 1970 MB free. So there's room for a few more albums on there.

And my thanks to all of the people who've stuffed CD info onto Gracenote over the years. I only had to hand enter about a half-dozen albums.

Phew!

I can empathize with what you've gone through. I've put the CD I sell on my iPod as well, and I've got something like 4800 tracks on there (but that includes the stuff I want to listen to along with the stuff I'm acting in).

Hmm... I really should check with you on those albums that remain in stock at OVFF that I don't have. :) (Not many, I suspect.)

So... What song(s) appear the most and was I right about the Banned from Argo quantity? (1 maybe 2?)

What software did you use to rip the CDs? Windows Media Player by any chance?

I ask because I've just ripped my CD collection and have many "unknown" albums and want to enter missing data but I am having some problems figuring out how to do that and am hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction given that you have done it. Whew, how's that for a run on sentence? :)

I'll take this discussion to email if you think it would help. My main questions at the moment: how to enter the "album level" info, how to delete an album, how to get the physical files renamed to match the library info and how to get a list of artist/album to take when I get to your dealer table next time we are both in the same place. The online Help is less than helpful to me.

Hugs.

I ripped 249 albums containing 3968 tracks.

Which gives us an average of 15.94 songs per album. (Based on almost 1/4 of a thousand "filk" albums.)
