After the Con Is Over

I worked from home this morning. daisy_knotwise, Katie, Julie, and I ducked out for an early lunch with catalana who I last saw towing a bag and a guitar toward the check-in line for Southwest on her way home to visit her parents for a bit. Now, I'm back in the office, picking up pieces before getting ready to head out on Wednesday evening for Concertino, where Gretchen and I are guests.

We have succeeded in making sure that life is never dull. :)

But Duckon was a fine time. Good friends, good music, good conversation. Good sales too. (We are not one of those dealers for whom sales are always "terrible". :) )

And sleep is for the weak and sickly.

Right.

I know that shortly after the Vixy & Tony concert you'd sold out of at least two of S.J. Tucker's albums. I hope sales were just as good if not better for other performers as well.

We're planning to land somewhere south of Toledo on the way there, then drive the rest of the way on Thursday, arriving Thursday evening.

On the way back, plans are flexible depending on how everyone is feeling. If we were an hour away from home, we'd have to be extremely tired to stop. Two hours away from home, less tired. Six hours from home and it's late, you definitely stop.

Of course, I made the three hour drive back from the Sutton's house sing starting at midnight ET and got home around 2 AM CT, because I decided that I was awake enough to sleep in my own bed. But I didn't have the kids on board for that one. :)

Oh, yes. Many CDs were sold from a variety of artists. I even sold three of mine. :)

The number of albums sold has a strong, but not necessarily direct, relationship to how many people are hearing you sing, along with how many of them are already familiar with your work and have your album already.

I'm glad we got to hang out over dinner on Friday, and really glad we decided to tackle "Down at Hot Rod Blues"... (I still have to extract it from the phone... then will send mp3).

Thanks for all the food runs over the course of the weekend... getting occasional infusions of Actual Protein is probably what kept me going. :-) Have fun at Concertino!! I really want to get back to the floating East Coast con one of these years, 'cause it was wonderful fun when WM guested out there.
