Less Than a Gross

daisy_knotwise missed on her earlier trip to the store today. Katie may have helped in the process of missing things, because Gretchen swears that she put chocolate chips in the basket, but they weren't there by the time that she got to the checkout line.
While I was there, I found The Spiderwick Chronicles in the Redbox. Gretchen's been wanting to see the film for a while now, so I rented it and we watched it this evening, explaining carefully to Katie that the ogres and goblins and trolls that were scary and produced occasional screams from her weren't real. We'll see how this goes. If we get nightmares, I suppose it's our own fault.
After that, we made eleven dozen chocolate chip cookies, a quantity that was only slightly dented by our quality control process. If the snow -- which has finally started falling -- prevents our guests from coming over tomorrow night, we're going to have a lot of cookies.
In the meantime, everyone's working from home tomorrow in deference to the predicted six to twelve inches of snow. And I have a conference call with a client at 9 AM. We'll see how it goes.
