We found a new local pizzeria that really suits daisy_knotwise and I -- Salerno's at Wolf and Kensington. And since they have half-price pizza on Mondays, we've been eating a lot of their pizza once a week.

They also have an extensive Italian menu, so when jeff_duntemann and Carol came by for dinner tonight we decided to give it a try for other takeout. Normally, Gretchen would have cooked, but we had a meeting with our financial advisor (AAAAAACK!) just before, so that really wasn't an option. And since this is the last day that Jeff's in town, it was going to be tonight or never.

I am happy to report that the takeout food is just fine. And large. :)

I like lots of kinds of pizza, but let's just stick to thin-crust here. I prefer that there be more toppings than crust, but I want the crust to be solid enough that I can handle the pizza. Crust that I can fold in half is not a good idea, no matter what the New York pizza aficionados think. :)

The crust should not be excessively greasy. Non-greasy is preferred.

There must be sufficient sauce. (Many pizzas fail this test. Ordering extra sauce can help.)

I should know that the pizza actually contains cheese when I bite into it.
