Yesterday at Sam's Club, I picked up a 350 tablet box of their house-brand version of Zyrtec for $17.12. That sort of beats the $19.99 for 90 pills that I was paying for the Walgreen's house-brand version by a lot. Like by enough to pay for the Sam's Club card for a year with cash left over.

In other news, Gas War Alley's being beaten out on prices lately by the dueling Shell and BP stations across the street from each other near where I work, just inside Cook County. As of today, they're down to $3.359. That's down about a dollar a gallon from just a few months ago.

Much like my 401(k).

The problem is that it takes a lot longer to fill up the 401(k)...

Well, my reason is this:

I don't like the way Wal-Mart does business. I do approve of the way Costco does business. (My favorite example: CEO of Costco deliberately set his salary to 12 times the lowest salary in the company. He felt he could justify that, and specifically wishes to avoid the obscene, and unnecessary, CEO average salary.)

I try to live my convictions. I don't always succeed, of course, but then all good things are worth working for, right? :-)

YMMV - and not just the expensive-gas mileage.

I've forgotten where Randhurst is, let alone where it is in relation to you. Which suburb is it in?
