Keyboard Katie

As part of our exchange of items yesterday with catalana, she gave us an obsolete Yamaha keyboard that was otherwise destined for disposal. I hooked it up after dinner tonight and Katie has been happily playing away on it.

We're not sure what she's playing, but that last little bit sounded like the monsters were approaching on The Outer Limits.

If it makes actual sounds for her, then it's better than what I had.

I was so frustrated by lack of musical instruments at my home, that I took a music textbook that have a reproduction on its endpapers of the keys on a piano (about an octave or two), laid it at the edge of a table, and sat there and pretended to play it.

Didn't do nearly as much for the ear-hand-eye coordination that I wanted to develop to make music.

As overcompensation, I now have more musical instruments in my house than most nonfilker locals that I know.

Well, I suppose so, but for all the gear that I have hanging around, I lack a portable MP3 recorder. :)
