The new baby's due date is tomorrow. However, the report from our gestational carrier is that the baby hasn't dropped yet and that not much has changed in the last week or so.

So we all remain on hold.

Always good that you are keeping us posted, and I am quite sure the excitement and suspense are right up there. In any event, congratulations a day or two or three in advance. You are aware, aren't you, that the first song on the album *The Kingston Trio Live at the Hungry i* is called "Tic! Tic! Tic!"? (I think that's how they spelled it, although it is a song about a missing wristwatch.)

If it helps - Aidan dropped 3 weeks early. Tatum didn't drop until I was in active labor. So really, dropping doesn't mean all that much.

As I think I'd said before to you, that whole dilation thing can change at the drop of a hat. Deep breath. This wouldn't be the first baby that was late.

Nor would it be

the first baby that was born within a day of the doctor definitively pronouncing that "Nothing is happening," (nor even the first in fandom)

When I was stationed in Athens, Georgia, back in 1980, there was a couple which was expecting a baby in, I think, March. Well, by early April, the baby still hadn't arrived. One weekend, the group where I'd met the couple and ended up helping them for a year (the group) put on a 5k run/walk. The wife walked the 5km with her husband walking alongside, making sure she was OK. Sure enough, a week after the run/walk, the baby arrived. One. Month. Late.

May this NOT happen to you and yours, and may you know nothing but joy and happiness from this impending arrival until 120 years.

um, yeah. Erika was that way. nothing happening, then a day or so later (2 weeks early)... I got the famous wife to husband nudge... "dear, are you awake?" "mmmf" "I'm in labor".. "I'm awake now!"
Well... keep us as informed as you are able...

Based on an insufficient sample (3) each one is quicker than the last one (though not earlier). Do NOT assume that you have X number of hours because it took that long the last time. :-) Good luck.

Sending GoodThoughts for a healthy baby. Blessings to you, Gretchen, Katie, your surrogate, and most especially the person who has yet to introduce him or herself.
