Earthquake!

Apparently, there was a magnitude 5.2 earthquake about 230 miles south of us in southeastern Illinois at about 4:35 AM.

We slept through it.

Local news reports indicate that it was a dish rattler in our neighborhood, but not enough to wake us up. The cat, on the other hand...

Possibly. I seem to recall being woken by the cat about that time. It wouldn't be surprising if he decided it was time to wake up the humans because the house was moving.

He hates thunderstorms. I've got to believe that earthquakes are on his list of bad things too.

I slept through it and only learned about it from this morning's news. One of that magnitude I'd have noticed if I'd been awake--have in the past--but not when asleep.

They say that animals can sense when earthquakes are coming, so maybe that's why he woke you up.

We had tremors here, too. I didn't feel it, but, working third shift, I heard about it on the radio as I was finishing up my day.
