Mega Millions!

billroperWhen the jackpot in the Mega Millions game gets high enough, I will buy a ticket or two. The normal result is that either no one wins or someone not from around here wins and I end up with a pile of tickets on my dresser when I clean out my wallet. Periodically, I check through them to see if I won anything.
There appears to have been a time vortex in the vicinity of my dresser, because I found tickets dating back to 2004 on the dresser today while I was trying to clean it off. Anything over a year old is expired and dead, of course, but I figured I'd check the numbers anyway.
I had one winning ticket worth $7 from January, 2005. I never matched the mega ball. Humph.
I also found a Lotto ticket from August 24, 1996 tucked away in a box on my desk. I was wondering why I had it until I realized that this was the Lotto ticket that I'd bought the day after we closed on our house.
It wasn't a winner either.
On the other hand, I found the phone number for an old friend who I'd lost track of in the same box and we had a nice chat on the phone when I called to see if the number was still good, so I guess I won something today.
