The Hole Truth -- Today's Version

Last week, I stopped swabbing out the hole in my leg with peroxide and it sort of scabbed over. Last night, I noticed that the long, narrow scabby stuff seemed a bit loose around the edges, so I pulled at it gently.

It came loose to expose unbroken skin. It appears I no longer have a hole in my leg.

I still have a big, ugly divot that will take some time to heal up -- assuming that it will -- but it's no longer an open sore.

I'll take that as a victory condition.

When I was in high school I put a large "dent" (no broken skin) in my shin when I missed clearing a hurdle. It was deep enough I could lay my finger into it. It literally took years for it to finally be flush with the rest.

Since July, when the thing opened up and started leaking. Of course, since it did that on the day when we were seeing Gretchen's oncologist, it wasn't the biggest problem we were dealing with by any means.

Hooray for healing!

I had a dent in my belly from my C-section incision. It didn't go away after 2.5 years. Finally fixed it when they opened me up again for Charlie.
