Weekend Update (early edition)

Despite the flyer that arrived in the mail yesterday listing Saturday service hours, the dealer's Service department was closed on Saturday. I'm told I'll get a call back on Monday.

I'm frantically trying to plug functions into the parser and formula processor. So far, I think I have support for five out of the eight functions I need. The good news is that only one of the remaining three is a stinker. Of course, I still haven't tested any of this.

In about an hour, Gretchen is supposed to pick me up for lunch and we'll head off for Michigan to visit with tarkrai and go to the Silver Leaf Renaissance Fair on Sunday, which is where he's working this weekend.

We certainly did! We met with tarkrai and his kids, Mark Bernstein, and Allen Bernstein, his fiance, and her daughter for dinner. Then we spent today tromping around the fair where we eventually ran into Todd Hamilton and qnvhrtz. And now we're home and being very, very tired.

Very well indeed. I think we even managed to mostly avoid sunburn -- Gretchen by liberal application of sunscreen, I by wearing a hat and staying in the shade as much as possible.

It's been a long time since we've been to a Renfaire. I think they're more organized now than they used to be. This isn't a permanent, dedicated site, like Bristol, but it's very nice.
