(The pet rats can be very trying that way.)

How would the baby probably act in that set of initial conditions?

And to add to that one, given a bed of infinite length and width, the baby (or cats) will still push you off the edge :-)

That certainly is an interesting theory. My personal experience, however, says that the "bed" in question would have to have another common moniker, "floor". That is, a blanket laid on the "floor" creates a "bed" of sufficient size that a baby cannot crawl off. Any smaller creation, e.g. "king-size bed" is of insufficient size to prevent, or even to discourage, a sufficiently determined baby from crawling off.
