At Marcon, I was off my crutches and doing a lot of walking around the convention center. Unfortunately, I hadn't noticed that the arch supports in my shoes were shot, because I'd been getting support from the crutch. This meant that my feet went sore, which meant that I started walking even funnier than I had been with the bad knee. That caused my left hip to go sour. And that's the way it's been for several weeks.

When I sat down on one of the picnic benches at Picnicon yesterday, I felt something go pop! And although my hip is still a bit sore, it's an entirely different kind of sore that's starting to feel a lot better. I think something's popped back into place where it belongs.

Phew!

Y'know, there's this thing called a chiropractor? They're really wonderful folks who do this sort of thing in a controlled fashion, before things get really out of alignment. I wouldn't be able to move without my chiro and my massage therapist.

Since I started having chiropractic adjustments about 27 years ago, I think I've heard of them. :-) However, there are issues that will keep a person from treatment they need, sadly. Given insurance, time and copious money nothing keeps me healthier than chiro, massage & acupuncture.

And another point, having re-read your comment - it isn't like he was *trying* to do that, for goodness sake! It was an accident (much like what happened to Bill) that turned out very nicely for me, to our mutual surprise.

Oh, second the motion! Some folks are shy of chiropractors, but I swear I'd be a housebound cripple by now without mine! He saved my bacon -- my hips were canted and stuck and pinching the sciatic nerve, and all standard medicine could do was issue painkillers.

Bill, if you're not allergic to the idea of chiropractic adjustment, I'd heartily recommend it!
