First Mother's Day

Well, the best laid plans and all that.

I picked up flowers and a scented candle for daisy_knotwise before rehearsal yesterday. Fortunately, we got started just late enough to give Gretchen time to arrange the flowers I'd brought.

Unfortunately, yesterday evening I came down with fever and lower digestive cramping. This has persisted through today, so -- although we did manage to run out for lunch -- my dinner is consisting of soup and rolls. Gretchen has more options. This has put a bit of a cramp in my plans for Mother's Day.

On the other hand, Gretchen did get cards from me, Katie, and fuzzbucket_cat along with a Fannie May Mint Meltaway when we headed out to lunch, so not all plans failed. And we've picked up a copy of Music and Lyrics to watch after dinner.

So it wasn't a total loss. ;)

Geeze, I totally spaced on it being necessary to wish Gretchen her first Happy Mother's Day! Hugs and best wishes to her from both me and Songbird.

I've been feeling icky all weekend (more female-related, I think, but also nauseous). I managed to attend my friend's graduation party today, but I don't know whether Folo and I will manage to get away on Tuesday and Wednesday as we'd planned; at the moment I just feel too poor to be comfortable going anywhere. Ugh. So you have my sympathy.
