The new computer is assembled and seems to work properly. I've gotten WaveLab installed ok, so I should be able to mix, although Cubase is still being balky. But I need to get the new Cubase upgrade anyway, so maybe that will fix the problem. And all of the critical data has been migrated from the old hard drive to the new machine, courtesy of a USB 2.0 enclosure that I popped it into.

So now I can go back to mixing [livejournal.com profile] catalana's and my albums. But not, I suspect, until after GAFilk, as [livejournal.com profile] jeff_duntemann and Carol are coming by tonight, then [livejournal.com profile] whl on Wednesday, and on Thursday [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I need to take down the Christmas tree and take it out for recycling.

Which brings me up to Friday, when I fly off to GAFilk.

Sigh. I'd hoped to have these albums ready for pre-release at GAFilk. As it stands, they won't make Confusion and they probably won't make Capricon either.

This is annoying, but not nearly as annoying as pressing 1000 copies each of mixes that aren't right yet.

Been there, Done that once.... Know better for next time.

I had an error that was NOT discovered till AFTER the master CD was sent to the duplicator. The songs were fine, but there was a balancing step I MUST do or its not going to sound right. (Song volume levels changed between songs.)

Only major flaw (as far as I am concerned) with that CD. Its been a fix and don't duplicate issue on all future CDs I have worked on.
