Ok, I know that a lot of my friends aren't posting to their LJs right now because they're sitting here at my house at the Capricon meeting. But where are all the rest of you?

I was wondering the same thing myself. It's unusually quiet even for a Saturday.

Writing exams. *grin* But I've written the exam I have to hand out Tuesday (the takehome) and the exam I have to administer a week from Tuesday (i.e., the day after I come back from seeing y'all), so I feel productive! The fuzzy-headedness of yesterday has gone away and my voice/throat feels fine too. Yay! (I was definitely out of it yesterday, though. I took a four-hour nap. I only got up because I figured I'd never get to sleep at night if I didn't...)

So I'm being productive, but I have noticed that no one is posting things to amuse me in between exam questions. Hmmphf.

I'm home, reveling in the thought that I don't have to be anywhere or do anything today.

BTW, I think I've come up with some interesting ideas for [livejournal.com profile] catalana's ASG song. Maybe we can get together and play with it a bit at 'Clave?

Hey, it's Saturday. Errands, lunch out, groceries. The usual. Finally home to relax for the rest of the day. Even listened to a bit of the OSU game.

As far as where the *rest* of your FL is, your guess is as good as mine! *hugs* to you and G. And Fuzz-cat. :-)

Housebound rainy day with a small child; we went off to the Naperville farmer's market this morning after stopping for a drive-through breakfast at BK. Got all the knives sharped and a bunch of produce, then off to three hours of Mere-on-wheels at the Roller Rink in Lombard (she's learning to skate, very enthusiastic). Got home, and Susan is knitting like mad, and Mere is playing. Me, I'm a little under the weather from some antibiotics that are twisting up my gut for an inner ear infection.

At home. Relaxing afer a good comfort-food dinner - pot roast. Maybe play a Mayfair train game later.

Cleaned the basement party room today in preparation for filkertom's house concert coming up in a few weeks. Also culled back issues of magaznes. There are four big rubbermaid tubs of Aviation Week, AOPA Pilot, Sport Aviation, Warbirds, Consumer Reports, Shutterbug, and Wood sitting in the breezeway. The recycling guys are going to hate us this week.

Picked up the VCR from the repair shop today. Not sure it's right yet. Got a lot of tracking noise when I tried to record an episode of Eureka off the Tivo. I'm in the midst of trying it again usng another tape that may be in better condition. We promised some Canadian friends that we'd get them taps of Eureka, and have been storing episodes on the Tivo until the VCR got fixed. Good thing I got it back today because the Tivo's getting full. If the VCR is well and truly dead, maybe I'll have to replace it with a VCR - DVD-writer combo ;^)

So, why didn't I post anthing to my LJ today? Because I don't particulalrly care for LJ posts that are just mundane descriptions of what people do from day to day, like "Cleaned the basement party room today . . .", so I try not to inflict it on others. But you asked.

Mark's day:

7:30 AM: Got up
8:00 AM: Went out to breakfast with Sharon - separate cars
8:30 AM: Drove from the restaurant to the farmer's market. Bought apples, cider, and a couple of other things.
9:00 AM: Drove from farmer's market to Troy, MI (about an hour's drive)
10:30 AM: Call time for a video shoot. (My agent called Tuesday, I auditioned Wednesday, I learned I had the job yesterday. This is typical.)
1:15 PM: Shoot ends.
2:00 PM: Arrive at my mother's apartment in Southfield with her newly-debugged computer. Proceed to set it up, show her how to search and order at Amazon, and did a couple of minor jobs.
3:15 PM: Leave Southfield, with my mother as passenger.
4:00 PM: Arrive home.
5:00 PM: Rosh Hashonah dinner for three at Zingerman's Roadhouse. (Brisket in pomegranate sauce, noodle kugel for dessert. Yum!)
7:15 PM: Drop my mother off in Southfield.
8:30 PM: Arrive home. Read newspapers, watch TV.
10:15 PM: Get online for the first time today.
Soon: crash

Neat venue, well performed show.

I have been planning and hosting a birthday party for Seamus, our 2 year old. It was today and was a lot of fun with a mix of guests from our fannish life and church life. The theme was "Teddy Bear Picnic". IT was so cool that our adult friends got into the theme and brought their teddy bears or stuffed animal of choice to join in the festivities. Alex, our 11 year old, had a fun time helping his little brother open cards and gifts. It wasa n all around wonderful party! I have even gotten it all cleaned up. I just need to run the dishwasher and most of it is done. Whoo hoo!

No internet access, but it wouldn't matter. I was reading P.C. Hodgell's new book, To Ride a Rathorn. Wonderful, as always; and, as always with Pat's books, not long enough!
