billroperJulie has her computer down in the basement near the escape window, which meant that she had an excellent view of the little wild rabbit that had managed to fall into the window well there. Despite the rabbit's best efforts, this was a well too deep to jump out of. Unfortunately, nothing Julie could do managed to coax the rabbit into a box so that she could lift it out. Since she couldn't get the rabbit out, she fed it lettuce and a carrot from the refrigerator.
Today after school, K put on heavy clothing and gloves and went down into the window well with a box. The rabbit was coaxed into the box -- ok, the rabbit was *pushed* into the box -- and then handed up and left with the box on its side so that it could leave when it was no longer scared to death.
K's bedroom window overlooks that bit of yard and she reported that not too long afterward, the rabbit hopped out of the box and headed for somewhere less exciting.
