It rained much of the day here, but it looks like it'll be dry for tonight's Cubs / Brewers game. This is good, as [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I have tickets.

We'll see what happens.

Meanwhile, I have to wait until tomorrow to see if the Cardinals can manage to win a game. *sigh*

I hear the Cubs are heading for some kind of record...

If Spahn and Sain were pitching for Boston this year, the saying would probably be more like "Pray It Doesn't Rain so We Actually See Spahn and Sain". I've never seen this much rain for such a prolonged period of time in my life. Not even close.

Too bad the Cards' early September series against the 'Nats can't be moved up. That'd be three easy wins for St. Louis right there...

There, there. The Tigers are incredibly hot, and they were at home, in front of the first sellout crowds they've had in a long time. The odds were against the Cards all the way.

I think the Cards were doomed against the Tigers. The Tiggers are on an incredible hot streak, and I don't know if anyone can beat them right now. A couple of rain-outs might slow them down, but then again, it might let some of the guys rest up without missing a game. (WTF? Someone just said, on national TV, in all seriousness, that the Tigers should trade Zumaya for Smoltz?! Eeesh.)
