This and That

billroperWe watched the end of two exciting baseball games today. This has become my playoff watching strategy, because Gretchen does not become bored with the early and middle innings and it gives us a chance to watch something with a plot. I am hoping that the Rangers can find a way to come back and the Diamondbacks can find a way to keep winning, because I would just as soon not watch a rematch of last year's World Series. We'll see how it goes.
I plan to spend tomorrow catching up on all things Windycon. And laundry. Laundry is very important.
Meanwhile, back at work, I have managed to get through the configuration problem that was shutting me down. I'm still not sure *why* I have this configuration problem, but the person who I need to talk to about it will be back from vacation next week. I'm starting to get positive results, although I'm having a problem with the garbage collector finding a way around my attempts to keep an object reference in memory. I will either improve my strategy here or I will talk to the fellow who is coming back from vacation and let *him* stuff an object reference into a persistent location that belongs to him.
Honestly, the latter is probably the better course, but I was trying to be self-reliant. See where that gets me... :)
